A nice little crew converged on the trail on September 20th, working on a rough clearing of trees and brush along the eastern part of the trail corridor. There is currently about a quarter mile cleared, with most smaller trees and scrub brush removed, but larger trees and more intense clearing remaining, as well as, eventually, installation of a gravel trail surface.
For this part of the trail system, we’re trying to follow the contours of an old quarry road. It’s amazing to see the outline of a trail emerge from what had been impenetrable brush, the result of 45 years or so of unrestrained growth and neglect.
