Grant to Fund Lehigh Portland Rail Trail Development

In May 2014, the Kansas Health Foundation announced their latest Healthy Living grants, and one of the 22 grants awarded was a $100,000 grant for the Lehigh Portland Trails in Iola.

Ride, run, hike, picnic, or just sit and take in the beauty of 100+ acres of rugged woodlands, lively prairie, and scenic views of the lovely spring-fed quarry lake. The Lehigh Portland Trails feature over 14 miles of rail-trail-style gravel-surfaced trails and natural-surface singletrack trails.

Lehigh Portland Trails

The Lehigh Portland Trails are built on the site of a former cement plant and quarry, along the banks of Elm Creek in Iola, Kansas. The trails feature both rail-trail-style gravel-surfaced trails and natural-surface trails for mountain biking, trail running, and nature hikes.
