The Lehigh Portland Trails are hosting a public work day on December 27th, 2014.
Come on out to burn off some holiday calories, break in that chain saw you received for Christmas, or just to spend some quality time in nature. Volunteers are invited to visit the trails to check out the plans and progress, and to help with clearing the backbone trail.
Meet at the eastern trailhead, at the corner of 1600th and Nebraska Road (see map / streetview) at 9am. Work will last until about noon, or as long as anyone wants to participate. If you’re driving to the trails, you can either park near the trailhead and walk back, or drive on in and park along the trail. If you’re arriving by bike, just ride the trail until you come to the work party.
Bring work clothes, including gloves, head protection, and eye protection. We’ll have the Trail in a Box on site, with hand and power tools, but please feel free to bring your own tools if you like. Water and snacks will be provided.
