Lehigh Portland Trails Work Day February 7th

posted in: News 0

The Lehigh Portland Trails are hosting a public work day on February 7th, 2015.

For the last workday, 20 volunteers turned out, and we made tremendous progress. We now have a little over a half mile of the main trail cleared, approximately 50% of the way through from the east side of the west side of the property. A few more turnouts like that, and we’ll be punched through before Spring!

The weather forecast is calling for 66 degrees and sunshine on Saturday, another beautiful weekend, and another great opportunity to enjoy the mild winter weather, spend some time in nature, and help a worthy cause.

Our official workday is Saturday, February 7th, beginning at 9am. There will also likely be volunteers on-site on Sunday the 8th, again starting at about 9am.

Park at the eastern trailhead, at the corner of 1600th and Nebraska Road (see map / streetview), and follow the main trail back to the worksite, a distance of about a half mile. Bring work clothes, including gloves, head protection, and eye protection. We’ll have the Trail in a Box on site, with hand and power tools, but please feel free to bring your own tools if you like.
